ISTA 6 Amazon SIPP (SIOC) is the Ships in Product Packaging (SIPP) Amazon's program, formerly known as Ships in Own Container (SIOC).
It tests the ability of packages and products to withstand transport risks typically encountered during handling and transportation. This project is complementary to ISTA 6-AMAZON.COM Over-Boxing OB.
ISTA 6-AMAZON SIOC is suitable for eight types of product-packaging systems, designated as Type A through H. These types are combinations of four criteria:
- Amazon.com shipping method
- Amazon.com fulfillment center/packaging method
- Product-packaging system weight
- Product category
ISTA 6-AMAZON SIOC Type A:
- Handling Method: Standard
- Shipping Method: Small Parcel, Individual Product-Packaging Pair
- Weight and Dimensions: Products under 23kg and perimeter equal to or less than 4.19
ISTA 6-AMAZON SIOC Type B:
- Handling Method: Standard
- Shipping Method: Small Parcel, Individual Product-Packaging Pair
- Weight and Dimensions: Products from 23kg to 45kg and perimeter equal to or less than 4.19m
ISTA 6-AMAZON SIOC Type C:
- Handling Method: Standard
- Shipping Method: Small Parcel, Individual Product-Packaging Pair
- Weight and Dimensions: Products over 45kg and perimeter equal to or less than 4.19m
ISTA 6-AMAZON SIOC Type D:
- Handling Method: Standard
- Shipping Method: LTL Pallet, Individual Product-Packaging Pair
- Weight and Dimensions: Products under 45kg or perimeter greater than 4.19m
ISTA 6-AMAZON SIOC Type E:
- Handling Method: Standard
- Shipping Method: LTL Pallet, Individual Product-Packaging Pair
- Weight and Dimensions: Products over 45kg or perimeter greater than 4.19m
ISTA 6-AMAZON SIOC Type F:
