During handling, the most serious mechanical aggressions are imposed on packaging. They depend on the handlers and the material handling means.
The most important constraints are due to the shocks caused by free falls. The volume of the packaging is important, as it has an influence and the handling means and therefore and the testing means in the laboratory.
Small packs are handled manually and may therefore fall on any of the sides, edges or corners.
During the free fall test, the pack is raised to a given height and dropped so that it hits a rigid surface: this height depends on the weight of the pack and the severity of the test. In this way, we can measure the efficiency of the packing.
